The Seneschal

What Does the Seneschal Do?

The Seneschal is chief administrator for and a legal representative of the college - sort of like the president of the club. For the College of Saint David, the seneschal is also the liaison between UCSC and the SCA.

Who Holds this Office?

The College of St. David is in abeyance and has no official seneschal of its own. Persons interested in becoming the College Seneschal should contact the Caer Darth Seneschal.

SOAR Links

One of the requirements for an active SCA College is SOAR membership. UCSC's Student Organization Advising and Resources department registers and funds student organizations, and offers free on-campus venues for their events.

Available on the SOAR website are How to Register Your Organization, the SOAR Calendar (shows SOAR deadlines, UCSC deadlines, and scheduled student events), Student Organization Info (online orientation & quiz, student handbook, etc.), Event Planning, and Leadership page, which includes downloadable tutorials on such topics as decision making, delegation, developing leadership skills, and time management.

The SOAR website also provides many forms which the College Senescal may find useful during his/her time in office, including forms for event proposals, creating a student organization constitution, and more. Visit the SOAR Financial, Funding, & Other forms web pages to read about and download these.
